Metabolic Efficiency - Day 3

I made it through another day! Today I woke up a bit hungry, but that's not unusual.  I then started my strength workout, which is pretty short and made up of body-weight exercises. It's 24 minutes long, and half of it is rest,  so I normally don't eat before, I just eat a good breakfast immediately after I finish.  After the first set (which lasted 2 minutes) I was a little light headed so I found something to eat quickly. A couple bites of banana did the trick! After the workout I ate! My breakfasts will probably be similar to this so I'll stop posting breakfast pics unless it is something different.
Had the rest of the banana and some blueberries in my yogurt.
I had meetings at work until just after 11am. Then I scarfed this down before heading to my physical therapy appointment.

After physical therapy, I knew I needed to get lunch for later. I didn't have any other food so I walked down to the bagel shop (car is still in for repairs) and got a salad with an extra egg. The dressing is honey mustard and I used it like a dipping sauce so I didn't consume very much.

 Reached for a little trail mix before my way home. There was a bit of a potential "slipping point" tonight as my husband had some friends come over and they brought chips, salsa, queso, guac (oh I guess I did have 2 baby carrots with a little bit of guacamole, but that's metabolically efficient!). They had hard and soft shell tacos. That queso smelled good. But I just made my dinner, a scrambled egg, black bean, veggie dish:
started with broccoli, mushrooms, red pepper, onion and garlic

added black beans, eggs and topped with a little salsa, cheese and black olives
So there you have it. I think I might have some cottage cheese and strawberries before bed, as I'm a little hungry as I type this. I guess that's a typical pattern, about 2.5-3 hours after a meal I'm hungry again so when I work past 9pm, I feel like I need a before-bed snack.

Come back tomorrow and see how I do as it's the weekend with a holiday dinner party in the evening.

I keep trying to eat like this but find myself incredibly hungry very often. I give in and eat bread like carbs.

Hey Nora - you are a lot more active than I am right now. I sit at a desk all day and have been enjoying a "recovery" month. I think you have a few kids at home and run almost every day, so you are burning a lot more calories than I am. This means you need to eat a whole lot more. Make sure you are getting enough protein and healthy fats. But with this eating "plan" you are supposed to eat to your hunger so if you get hungry, eat again! If your blood sugar is stable, you will know when you are truly hungry.

Nicole I eat a lot like this but my portions are much bigger. I am trying to jump start my metabolism to get my BFP% down. I have not been good this week but you are inspiring me to not give up! Thanks so much for sharing!
